Rochelle created Dynamic Winterguard under the Spiritus Marching Arts association in 2014. Rochelle is a member of the Spiritus Board of Directors as well as a six year veteran of Escalade Winterguard where she is also on the board of directors.
Rochelle has a vast resume of both participating in and teaching colour guard and winter guard. Her first year in colorguard was 2001 as a member of Allegiance Elite Drum and Bugle Corps. She spent four years total within the organization, becoming colourguard captain in 2003.
Next Rochelle joined the Calgary Stampede Showband in 2004. During the next three and a half years Rochelle earned colourguard captain, outstanding first year award, and a Taylor award for the most outstanding colourguard member in 2005.
In 2007 Rochelle earned a spot in The Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps, Santa Clara California, where she spent two years competing.
Rochelle taught the Calgary Round-Up Band from 2004-2007. She was the Colorguard Coordinator for Stetsons Showband in the 2007-2008 season and began teaching the Calgary Stampede Showband in 2007. She became the Colourguard Coordinator for the Stampede Showband in 2010 and went on to win three World Association of Marching Showbands championships during her time in the position.
Rochelle strives on developing excellence and accountability while creating a fun environment in which both youth and adults feel challenged and successful.
Michelle Norman - Director
Michelle Norman has a full plate. She is currently teaching with Dynamic, coordinating the Stetson's colourguard (with whom she also taught for three years) as well as instructing with Stampede Showband.
Michelle has a long history of participating in the colourguard world. She was a three-year member with Bishop Grandin and a five-year member of Stampede Showband before moving on to teaching.
Michelle is in her third year with Dynamic Winterguard and is also an eight year member of Escalade Winterguard.
Katie Lemke - Color Guard Coordinator
Katie Lemke has been involved in marching bands in Calgary since 2005. She was a member of The Calgary Round-up Band, The Stetson Show Band, and also The Stampede Showband. She became Colourguard Captain in her final year with the Stampede Showband. Katie aged out of Stampede in 2014, at the age of 21. Katie was also a member of Dynamic Winterguard for two seasons, and travelled with the group to Phoenix to compete in a WGI regional competition. Katie was a three-time world champion with The Calgary Stampede Showband. She was honoured by earning awards with both The Calgary Round-up Band and The Stampede Showband when she was a member of those groups.
In addition to earning her Bachelor of Elementary Education and being a grade 1/2 teacher, she has instructed at the Stetson Show Band since 2013. During the 2018 season, she was a member of the WAMSB World Championship Colourguard design team for the Stetson Winterguard. She was also an instructor for the Calgary Round-up Band for two seasons. Katie is excited to be a part of the Dynamic team!
Sasha Wilde - Dance Instructor
Born and raised in Calgary, Sasha Wilde earned her Bachelor of Arts (honours) in dance from Winnipeg’s School of Contemporary Dancers in affiliation with the University of Winnipeg. During her studies she took courses in performance, choreography and pedagogy; and worked with many nationally renowned teachers and choreographers. Post graduation Sasha traveled to Mexico to perform in the show Creando Lazos a Través de la Danza – Creating Bonds Through Dance with GPS Dance Collective, of which she is a founding member. Sasha has danced in projects with Stephanie Ballard and Dancers: Landscape Dancing, Odette Heyn Projects with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Young Lungs Dance Exchange and NAfro Dance Productions, including performing in NAfro’s 2017 MOVING INSPIRATIONS DANCE FESTIVAL. Most recently she participated as a performer in Dancer’s Studio West: Dance Action Lab: Musculus Mundi. In addition to performing, Sasha is passionate about teaching and sharing her love of dance with her students. She has taught and choreographed for students of many ages, especially in Contemporary/Modern dance techniques.
